Get ahead of headaches
Your article “Head Off Pain” (December 2006) said feverfew won’t stave off migraines. I have had migraines for 35 years. In that time, I’ve tried many prescription drugs, all with side effects. But if I take three feverfew capsules and one aspirin with a full glass of water at the onset of a migraine, within a half hour the pain is gone! Take it from someone whose first migraine landed her in the hospital: The stuff really works, without any side effects.

Take out talc
I was excited to see the article “About Face” (February 2007), because I’d been looking for a blush that I could feel good about. However, when I looked up two of the products you mentioned—Dr. Hauschka’s Bronzing Powder and Benefit Benetint— I was unhappy to find that the first ingredient in each product is talc, which earlier you had said to avoid.

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. Talc, which has been called a possible human carcinogen and respiratory toxicant by the Environmental Working Group—a Washington, D.C.-based watchdog organization—is certainly on our shortlist of makeup ingredients to avoid. We regret the error.
