Top tips for picky eaters

I fully believe that children do as they see. Neither my husband nor I expect our children to eat things we would not eat.
As early as possible, we give them real food (i.e. organic, homemade bone broth in small quantities from a bottle). They are exposed to as many "different" and amazing real foods early on so that the "pickiness" diminishes quickly.
When they decide they don't like something, we never force it upon them, but instead try again another day. That said, we have also never allowed them to dictate our meals. I make one large meal, with many options, and they can choose to eat as much or as little as they like.
While I feed them a lot of smoothies, I don't "sneak" things into any of their meals intentionally because I enjoy teaching them about food, how it helps us "grow big and strong," and then allowing them to not enjoy it if they don't like it.
Finally, I let them help me cook and bake as often as possible. My 3.5-year-old knows how to make our bread with me, what a Plantain is, and one of my peanut butter flavors was named after her: Samarah's Cinny-Vanilly Peanut Cashew Butter.
