Beauty wisdom for the ages
“I look at aging as the gaining of experiences (and hopefully wisdom), wrinkles as signs of life well lived. I think the societal perception around aging is shifting from avoidance to recognizing that there are many things we can do to embrace the inevitable and make it about healthier aging and prolonging our ability to enjoy ourselves at every phase of life, rather than shaming or avoiding. When gray, silver and white highlights become trends in hair color, you know things have shifted! But joking aside, I’m thrilled to see a shift toward healthier aging rather than antiaging, from skin care to cosmeceuticals, supplements to functional foods. I also think this is reflected in how we portray aging in marketing, social media and communications—it’s a shift that needs to continue to occur and hopefully deepen.”
