My older two children have been adventurous eaters. But my youngest son has always been extremely picky. I know that it takes time to develop a taste for some foods. Children under 12 months need only 7 to 10 tastes, but as they get older it takes more tastes to learn to like a food. To help encourage everyone to eat healthy and try new things, we add a new food every week and have a "2 Bite Rule.” If a food is on your plate, you must take 2 bites. After that they can leave the rest if they choose and eat the other food on their plate.
