Dark Chocolate Fondue with Orange Essence
Ingredients
  • 2 organic navel oranges
  • cups unsweetened soy or cashew milk
  • 1pound dark chocolate chips
  • 1teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2teaspoons Grand Marnier, Cointreau or a few drops natural orange flavor
  • ¼teaspoon salt
Instructions
  1. Using a microplane, zest both oranges. Set a bit of peel aside. Reserve oranges for another use.
  2. In a medium saucepan, bring milk to a simmer over high heat, stirring occasionally to ensure milk doesn’t scorch on the bottom of the pan.
  3. Once milk is simmering, reduce heat to low and gradually add chocolate chips, ½ cup at a time. Stir until chocolate is melted and incorporated; then add the next ½ cup, repeating until all chocolate is added and melted.
  4. Stir in vanilla, Grand Marnier or orange flavoring, salt and orange zest. Transfer mixture to a fondue pot and keep warm. Garnish with orange peel.
