Boulder Tangerine Bourbon Sour
  • 1part fresh lime juice
  • 3parts fresh lemon juice
  • 4 parts plain simple syrup (see note; right)
  • 2bags tangerine (or any citrus) tea
  • 1cup boiling water
  • 1cup natural cane sugar
  • 3tablespoons bourbon
  • Cherry and fresh orange wedge, for garnish
  1. Make sour mix: Combine lime juice, lemon juice, and simple syrup. Set aside.
  2. Make tangerine simple syrup: Strongly steep tea bags in boiling water. Discard bags and add sugar. Simmer, stirring, until sugar dissolves. Cool.
  3. Add ice to a cocktail shaker and add bourbon, 2 tablespoons sour mix, and 2 tablespoons tangerine simple syrup. Shake well. Strain into a tumbler over ice. Garnish with cherry and orange.
